2021 a year in review

Hey there! Quick heads up – mask up and slap on some alcohol gel before diving into this text!

So, here we kick-started a year that’s definitely going down in the history books. Thanks to a pesky virus named COVID, it wreaked havoc on folks worldwide, leaving a trail of chaos.

But, let’s slide away from the gloomy stuff and dive into the brighter side, where I documented the rollercoaster that was this year. Yep, it was a wild ride with restrictions galore – no beach bumming or catching waves for us!

Lucky for me, I weathered this storm down under in Australia, specifically Sydney. We dodged the worst of it, giving me the chance to pursue my true love (second only to myself): capturing life through my lens.

Travel plans took a hit due to restrictions, but my camera got a serious workout. Alongside my Maroubra crew, I snapped shots at local events like NMRS, MAD MAX, and Narrabenn WSL.

And guess what? I scored an exclusive shoot with the surfing legend Italo Ferreira – both in and out of the water. Plus, I kept up my quest for epic swells and colossal waves.

This year threw some collaborations my way, teaming up with the Search and Destroy crew. Our photo collection turned into their first Annuarium – pretty cool, right?

To cap off this wild ride, I upgraded my gear from a Canon 6D Mark II to a shiny new Canon 90D, complete with an upgraded Aquatech waterproof case featuring all the bells and whistles.

Thanks: Canon, Aquatech, DaFin, Gath, RVCA, O’Neil and DJI.

Check out some of the highlights from this photo-packed year, and catch you on the flip side!
